Trinity College Dublin has the history to shape your future

Trinity CollegeTrinity College in Dublin is the only Irish university to rank in the top 100 world universities (at 49th) and the top 50 European universities (at 13th) by the Times Higher Education Supplement league tables.

What makes Trinity College so special? It has a long history, as one of the oldest universities in the world. Founded over four hundred years ago, it continues to nurture independent and creative thinking today.

In contrast with the vocational focus at many more modern universities and colleges, Trinity aims to provide a truly broad education, and students are encouraged to take a course outside their main discipline. For example, if you are studying medicine, you can also take a subject in literature, film studies, philosophy, politics, globalisation or business studies.

This helps you develop an independent spirit of critical inquiry, and think about theories and the world in different ways.

If language is not part of your main degree, you can also pick up an optional language course while you study. Choose from French, German, Spanish, Irish, Italian and Turkish.

Every undergraduate student gets their own personal tutor, who will help you with your academic progress, and your personal progress, throughout your degree. They provide advice on your subject choice, exam preparation and assessments, and guide you through any difficulties or problems.

Claire Duff, who studied a BA in Music and French at Trinity, says, “I would recommend anyone who wants to have their ears opened, their minds challenged and their outlook broadened, to study at Trinity.”

Erich Barnstedt agrees. After completing his BA, he now works in development for Microsoft. “The broad syllabus of the computer science degree has given me the right skills in today’s every changing IT industry. I learned important lessons about working with a team, and gained social skills that have helped me tremendously in my career.”

There are over 400 undergraduate courses available at Trinity College. To find out which is right for you, contact their enquiry service today.
