Application Deadlines – March 2010

Don’t miss out on your course of choice: Important deadlines for your application

Australia and New Zealand –Apply now to start in July/August 2010. Application deadlines are approaching, especially if you live in visa level 3 and 4 countries like India and China.

We recommend you submit your application and supporting documents to your chosen universities by the end of February to give yourself enough time.

Applications are now opening for 2010 scholarship programs.

USA and Canada –You can still submit your application to start in September 2010, but you should try to get your applications sent or submitted as soon as possible. We encourage you to apply well in advance to secure a place and to allow time to apply for your visa.

UK –Submit your application to StudyLink now to start in September 2010, the UK’s main term. It is best to get your application in early, as popular courses will start to fill up soon. The application deadline for undergraduate courses is June 2010.

USQ sponsorship leads to global career success

USQ Business alumnus Lawrence Lau has a high-powered career and a jet-setting lifestyle in Shanghai, but he still retains a few Australian habits from his time at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ).

Lawrence was selected from his Hong Kong high school for an Australian Government overseas sponsorship program in 1989. He came to USQ and studied accounting and information systems, graduating in 1992.

Seventeen years on, Lawrence is the vice-president of finance for the global Mary Kay cosmetics business in China and the president of the Shanghai committee of accounting association CPA Australia.

In recognition of his many achievements Lawrence was recently honoured at the inaugural Australia-China Alumni Awards in Beijing.
